My Husband, Billy Ray, and Me

Last night Josh took me to see Billy Ray Cyrus for his first REAL concert. It was a lot of fun and a great show. He did some oldies and some new songs (for the under 12 audience that showed up). It was funny to see the different demographics in the audience. There were a whole bunch of OLD people. And by old I mean canes and wheelchairs and shaky old men. But there were a lot of YOUNG people too. And by young I mean "I really really really hope Miley randomly shows up in the middle of her daddy's concert, but I only know one song he is singing" young.

We got a glimpse of Billy Ray with his new short hair signing autographs by his trailer before the show. We sat and wondered in detail how you got to go back behind the fence to get an autograph. I think we came to the conclusion you had to be handicapped or of a certain squealy age, which I have long surpassed.
When he came on stage he was a little farther away than I wanted, but I made do with the best zoom I could get on my camera. And I reassured myself with the fact that the people in the front were slightly beyond insane climbing on bushes and waving signs and screaming.
Even though Josh technically does not like country music, he enjoyed the show and even sang along when he knew the words.
My camera had a hard time with all the lighting changes, but I tried to catch an up close shot.
And, of course, one with his cowboy hat on. Only some people can pull off the cowboy look...cowboys being some of those people.
He interacted a lot with the audience, making jokes and talking to people, and later handing out guitar pics. AND an awkward hand holding with some older lady who proceeded to shake from excitement and try to hug him before he backed away in semi-apparent fear or concern.
Costume changes were done on stage. TALENTED, huh? Not really, he just took off his sweatshirt to reveal a plaid shirt, and then took that off to show off his white tee, afterwhich he got cold and put his sweatshirt back on. SOO complex.
The show only lasted about an hour and 15 minutes, but it was a lot of fun and definitely worth the ticket price. Plus, there was the added benefit of going on a date with my handsome husband. I even got a kiss afterwards...
