J Week & Labor Day Weekend

Jump for Joy! Last week was J week. (Do you realize how hard it is to find things to do for some of these letter weeks btw?) We did our best and this is what we came up with...
We went to the library and borrowed Jump, Frog, Jump, Jumbo's Lullaby, and Jack and the Beanstalk and read them...a few times each.
We played the Jellybean game.
We ate Japanese food at Ziki Japanese Steakhouse....YUM!
Then we ate our leftover Japanese in front of the TV.
We JOUSTED!!
Complete with war paint...thanks to Daddy and a can of frosting!
We watched The Jungle Book on the computer while Daddy worked.
We ate Jawbreakers.
We drew a long Jump outside on the sidewalk...
Then we tried it out!
We wrote words that started with J on the sidewalk outside, like Jump. Jig, Jive, Joust, Josh...
We ate Jerky. Ok, so I ate jerky - Tyler licked a piece and said "ew that's dross."
We also ate Jello pudding.
We made our long Jump indoors too.
And, lastly we went to a jungle gym and found the word JUMP there too!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
After J week was Labor Day weekend. We didn't have anything big planned, but wanted to do something fun.
First, we went to Daddy's new office to hang up some pictures. On the way there we saw these cute little guys having a morning snack:
Daddy did most of the work...
Tyler "worked" on the computer by "typing some letters."
And drew a nice "diagram" on the dry erase board.
The finished product:
-----------------------------------------------------------------

After the office, we went to Great Falls. This was after Tyler's request the other day that he would like to "see a waterfall someday." Not only did he see a waterfall, but he also saw a horse, some kayakers, a boat, a nasty bug, some butterflies, rocks, and lots of trees.
Doesn't that water look disgusting?
We also saw this nasty looking bug. It looks like a worm with a GAZILLION feet. EWWWW.

It was a FUN weekend and a JOYOUS J week.

That jousting is a great idea - as a first time mom, you sure give me lots of good tips!

You could have taught him the names of his 2nd cousins for J week, Jakob, Joshua, Jacey and Jena! Looks like you had a fun Labor Day Weekend! Tyler is so cute!

Great job with J week. I love the black and white pictures in the office Josh!!
btw...The kids got into an argument over who was more like Tyler this morning, Tess was pretty upset to learn she isn't a boy like Tyler!?

Great J week! Looks like you guys had a lot of fun jumping. Andrew would totally go for the jousting.....but that makes me a little scared.

You are amazing!!! I think Tyler is going to get into school and feel robbed, because his mommy comes up with way cooler ideas than any teacher he will ever have. Thanks for posting all your incredible ideas, and your pictures are always great!

p.s. - Is that Japanese restaurant the one that is close to the Rio? I have always seen it, but wasn't sure if it was good.

Shauna - the Japanese restaurant is the one by the Rio. It is SO good but slightly pricey. It's one where they cook right in front of you, and besides Tyler needed to hold my hand during "the fire part" he loved it. I bet Logan would get a kick out of it.
