Fourth of July Fun

Our Fourth of July started out late...

We wanted to hit up the community parade at 9:30am on the Fourth, where Tyler could decorate his bike and ride in the parade. Too bad we didn't get out of the house until after 9:30, and then walked all the way to the meeting place to find everyone gone. Tyler rode his bike by himself until we found the parade OVER and everyone chilling at the pool.

On the bright side, Tyler did get to enjoy a popsicle, pop some bubbles, get a couple flags, talk to some firemen, check out an ambulance and a fire truck, and hang out with a creepy looking guy on stilts.

We then headed over to my inlaws house to play some water balloon baseball and have a barbeque. Josh was pretty good...and pretty wet by the end.

After water balloon baseball, and filling out tummies with as much food as humanly possible, we layed down to relax and watch a movie...

And, as soon as the movie was over, we were back outside for some more water balloon baseball and a full out water fight. Luckily I claimed to be the media (I had a camera, you know) and didn't suffer from the bulk of the fighting.

When the fighting was over, and shoes and socks were in the dryer, we decided to set off some LEGAL fireworks. Not nearly as exciting as the real thing, but at least we didn't have any uniformed visitors at our party.

Tyler was thrilled when the noisy ones were over.

After our own fireworks, we headed off to see the MC fireworks, hoping to get to bed a little earlier since church would start at 9:00am. And here is the ONLY picture of me from the whole day...
