The Catch-Up Post

I’ve been really busy and slightly lazy this week, (I know, the two don’t usually go together), so brace yourselves for a long post. If you are one of my loyal followers (and you know who you are), I am sure you will read this despite the length. But if you get text woozy, you might want to scan pictures, leave a generic comment if any, and then close out the window before you either puke or pass out.

Anyhow, here’s what we have been up to this week…

On Monday morning at breakfast, I was bored and decided to “interview” my child. Here is the interview exactly how it happened:

C: If you had one million dollars, what would you buy?
T: Medicine
C: For who?
T: For people.

C: If you could be any animal, what would you be?
T: A llllllllllllllllliiiiiiiooooooon.

C: What job do you want to do when you grow up? (This one took a little explaining, as he wasn’t sure what a job was).
T: Play basketball

C: If you could have one pet, what would it be?
T: Doggies

C: What’s your favorite thing to do?
T: Play hockey

C: What are you scared of?
T: I scared of moon.

C: What’s your favorite color?
T: Blue

C: Who’s your girlfriend?
T: Shauna (sorry Madi)

C: If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
T: Farmers house and watch animals eat grass

C: Who’s your best friend?
T: Tyler…no, not Tyler. Mommy and Daddy.

C: When’s your birthday?
T: January twelves

C: Where do you live?
T: Clarksbird

C: Tell me something funny…
T: Knock Knock
C: Who’s there?
T: Body’s home? Ha ha ha ha.

Then, that afternoon, we took Tyler’s bike out for a long awaited ride.

He has been riding it in the house since January, and I finally succumbed to the idea that I would have to wipe wheels down every time we brought it into the house once it ventured outdoors. He surprised me with being scared of the bike after a fall going around a corner too quickly, but I easily bribed him back on by jibing at his competitive nature… “you can’t catch me!!” I had to hold onto him down the hills so he wouldn’t go too fast, and push him back up the same hill cause it was too steep, but I think he rode about a half mile all in all.

While we were riding we also happened upon some ducklings…aka baby ducks. There were seven and they were sooo cute. Tyler almost fell into the pond trying to admire them, and I spent my picture time holding the back of his shirt while trying to snap some cute pics of the little duckies. Their mommy was happy to have a fence there to keep us away from them, but I was not so happy for photography purposes.

On Tuesday we went to Mommy & Me at the Rockville Town Square. For those of you who didn’t make it, they have it every third Tuesday of the month and it is completely FREE. Tyler and I spent most of our time in the balloon animal line because he just HAD to have an Elmo balloon.

We also got to make a lion mask, a macaroni necklace, and SGAH provided free hand sanitizer…WHOPPEE! I didn’t get many pictures because the ONE time I decided not to bring a stroller, Tyler insisted on being carried the majority of the way.

However, I had to bust my camera out when the HIGHLIGHT of our trip appeared…ELMO!!

I thought Tyler would hide behind my leg and refuse to go near him, but he ran right up to him and gave him a big hug and showed him the Elmo balloon he had. We followed him for a good while until I told Tyler to say goodbye. It was a tragic goodbye…followed by much needed sleep in the car.

Yesterday we didn’t have much time for fun with all the work and a Presidency Meeting, but we did catch a few minutes to hang out in the “yard” (and if you saw my yard you would see why I put it in quotes), and take care of our pretty flowers. Tyler LOVES watering them by himself, of course after I empty the can a little.

Well I guess that’s it for now. I do have MONDO pictures of my dance kids to post, but that will be another day. Thanks to all of you who made it through this post. :)

Loved the catch up post! My favorite phrase was "text woozy". I will absolutely use that sometime. I am also impressed that your son and mine have the same plan for a grown-up job. Of course, it might actually pan out for your son - mine is short and somewhat coordination challenged :-)

Dude- it wasn't THAT long, or maybe it was just really fun to read, because I read the WHOLE thing! But then again I have a tendency to write REALLY LONG posts that I'm sure put people to sleep!!! SO, I LOVED the interview you did with Tyler. I totally want to do that with Madi. But what's up with him switching girlfriends from one post to the next!!! Come ON Tyler- don't go playing hard-to-get!! :)
And I gotta say- I LOVE Tyler's bike. I think I better start lookin for one for Madi. I love how happy he looks in that second picture!! Anyway, I'm bummed we never saw you guys at the Mommy & Me thing. I'm SUPER excited for next month. Do they have different things each month. Thanks SO much for telling us all about it! I love doing stuff like that! Anyway, when's our next play group?!?!?

Wow!!! I have no idea how I got so lucky for Tyler to be loving on me. I'm one lucky woman. Sorry Madi! I love Tyler's bike, the retro look is so fun. Thanks again for telling us about the Mommy and Me activity. Next time I think the mommy's should all get to hang out and the kids will just have to come along for the ride. :)
