...but I still am not that good.
Anyway, I have been practicing the "fuzzy background effect" on my photos. I know there is probably a technical name for it, but I prefer to call it fuzzy background effect. Here are some of my pitiful attempts:

anyway its simply called background blur- as far as ive ever read anyway. what kind of camera do you have?
pLEASE MARYLAND! WARM UP!?!?!?!
You are awesome! I love your kissing toothbrushes! Haha! Good job on your practicing!
That blurry background thing is called Bokeh. (I say it bow-ka, but who knows if that's right.) It's a Japanese term that means something really awesome and insightful, but I can't remember what. Something about circles of confusion.
Anyway, I looove "The Bug"! Very cute. You should try turning off your flash!
Can't wait to see more! Photography is ALL about practice. :)
GOOD WORK!!! I'm impressed! Really, I am- I always love it when I see pictures that have the focus on one thing with a blurry background, but I wouldn't have the first clue on what to do. I despertly need to learn more about cameras. I've made a deal with Spencer that I'll become educated on taking better pics by the end of law school, and then we have to buy a new camera! Well, I don't really think it's a deal- we NEED a new camera BAD!!!
Ditto to Anie - we also need a new camera BAD! Our poor kids will only have terrible childhood pictures of themselves (and 15 of each since that is how I take pictures - snap 40 of the same shot and hope that one is not too blurry) while our younger children will have awesome pictures of themselves when I become an amazing photographer. (Stop laughing!) PS I thought the background is always fuzzy? My pictures only focus on what is in front. Everything else, well I don't know what it looks like. This is a technique? How do you do it?
