Now here it is 20 minutes later and he is still on the toilet and the laundry is still sitting in the washer, but I can't bring myself to face the worst case scenario, and everytime I ask him if he's done he says "no, still pooping."
I guess it's sort of my fault. I groomed him to read while on the toilet, to get his mind off the fact that he is actually sitting on the toilet and pooping, and once he is completely enthralled in his book, it kind of just happens. However, after he is completely into his book he doesn't want to stop reading. Some of his favorites: toy magazines, hockey magazines, and sports books. Every once in a while when there is NOTHING else to read, he'll pick up a woman's clothing magazine, but those poops are a lot shorter.
Anyhow, I am not trying to complain about his long bathroom visits; I am just happy he actually goes on the toilet. I just would like to get my laundry DONE! But when the worst case scenario is much worse than you would like, what else can you do but sit and blog instead?

Quit trying to multitask! In my experience, when kids are involved, it always goes badly.
yah, at least he goes on the potty! thats GREAT when hes JUST 2!! I couldnt ask for anything better!!! I doubt Lexi will be trained by then!
Your child is potty trained already?! You are such a show off! Good thing I love you.
Absolutely - to the last paragraph. I would LOVE long bathroom breaks myself. Today during my bathroom break (sorry tmi) Kate scattered 600 hair elastics across the living room like confetti. (Actually there were 598, since two were in her hair.) What was I saying? Oh yes. Be grateful he uses the potty. And enjoy the laundry time you have to yourself!
CUTE potty picture!!! I actually happened to get tons of these this week of Madi! She's become obsessed with SITTING on the toilet! Ya, just sitting! No pooping! She likes to read her "potty book" while sitting on the potty. I've gotta work on teaching her the whole concept on actually "going" while she's sitting there! :)
